Excited and ready for a new challenge in 2019? Our search is on for two Apprentices to join our Engineering Team based in Clayhills, Aberdeen.
LNER are now the custodians of an iconic, prestigious and recognisable stretch of railway: the East Coast route.
Stretching from Inverness to London, this route has some exciting things happening in 2019, especially with our new Azuma trains, now speeding up and down the country with more seats, more leg room, faster Wi-Fi and faster journey times.
We need great people to work with us to deliver an exceptional experience to our customers and our colleagues - this is a really exciting time for the East Coast route with plenty of opportunity everyone involved!

This apprenticeship blends both theory and practical learning, ensuring that you’re equipped with the knowledge and skills to start your career on the right tracks. You will study full time at North East Scotland College in your first year and then one day a week from year two to four, with the remainder of your time working on our lovely trains. You’ll be learning all aspects of our maintenance, from engines and suspension, to air conditioning and lighting, with lots more along the way!

To apply for this role, you must meet our minimum qualifications:
Plus Standard Grades at a minimum Level 2 or CFE National 5 equivalent in at least four of the following:
Throughout your apprenticeship you can expect first class training and mentoring from our teams who will be supporting you along the way to receive qualifications in HNC in Electrical Engineering and SVQ3 in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
As well as the minimum qualifications, you’ll need to be motivated, hard working and be an effective problem solver. You’ll need to have a thirst for knowledge, ensuring that you are continually learning and putting your skills to practice. Starting Salary is 19,133 rising to £27,105 in year two.
