Web Product Manager
Web Product Manager
London / York
Here at LNER, our vision is to put heart into everyone’s journey along the East Coast mainline. Our plans for the digital landscape are ambitious, and we now need a talented and energetic web product lead to help us deliver them.
The LNER website has more than 1m visitors a month, but it hasn’t had a full makeover in some time. We’re looking to carry out a series of exciting projects to deliver a step-change to the experience on the website, as well as on the Wi-Fi portals onboard our trains.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of the website and Wi-Fi pages, and determine their future roadmap – with an eye to industry-leading innovation. This will involve managing key suppliers, collaborating with stakeholders across the business, acting as product owner for development projects, and being the guardian for web quality, accessibility and resilience.
There is loads to do...!
You'll lead and own the strategic vision for the build & implementation of LNER’s customer-facing web systems. Owning the web product roadmap and backlog, ensuring specification and prioritisation of features is driven by data & customer insight alongside commercial objectives.
Collaborating with the Digital Experience team to understand customer needs and pain points, and how to address these through LNER web touchpoints, developing data-driven business cases to sell to key stakeholders across the business. Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
You'll manage virtual cross-functional delivery teams to ensure that the right resources and capabilities (Agency and Internal) are in place to deliver and maintain LNER’s web estate, reviewing performance & carrying out tender processes for agencies & contractors if needed.
We'll need you to measure the success of these projects too. Ensuring the customer is the focus & our decisioning reflects this to drive continuous improvement, carry out regular analysis and horizon-scanning to ensure LNER’s web properties are best-in-class. Working closely with the Accessibility and Inclusion Manager and external parties to ensure LNER’s web properties are fully accessible for all our customers.
Sounds exciting right...? Of course, with such a specialist role, there are a few must haves...
We'd love to see your ability to manage stakeholders and communicate and influence at all levels to gain buy-in for projects backed up with experience in the design and build of digital products, using Agile methodology.
Experience in mobile-first methodology and understanding of user-centred design principles backed up with expertise of managing a high traffic e-commerce website & a solid knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and enterprise content management systems.
You'll hopefully have a test-and-learn approach with experience in AB testing/CRO and setting project benchmarks & owning and managing significant budgets & an excellent working knowledge of web analytics (GA, Tableau).
You'll have a naturally collaborative approach, comfortable working in a fast-paced digital product environment with good working knowledge of JIRA or other Kanban/project management software & an awareness of all key digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, Social, Display).
“If you are super positive & love to get your hands dirty in all things web & digital, and you’re comfortable in an ever-changing environment, it's time to update your CV & click apply!”
We look forward to reading your CV.
