Communications Manager – Scotland
Permanent - Full time
First question – are you an expert in the Scottish media and public affairs space?
Second question – how do you like the sound of being LNER’s very first external communications specialist in bonnie Scotland?
Last question – does the thought of developing and implementing our Scottish communication strategy fill you with excitement and interest?
If the answers to the above are positive, then we’d love to tell you about a new role in our business...Communications Manager – Scotland.
We’re building a brand new communications team here at LNER, and we need someone with fantastic experience of communications, media management and public affairs ‘north of the border’ to be our resident expert.
Hopefully that’s you!
But never mind what we need – what about you, and the things you’ll have the opportunity to get stuck into from day one.
In this key role you’ll be leading and managing our external communications and stakeholder relationships across Scotland, cultivating relationships with MSPs, their offices and Scottish Government ministers.
You’ll be connected with the movers and shakers of the Scottish media market – both locally and nationally, and the responsibility will be yours to make sure our reputation is successfully managed (with help from the team as well of course!).
Building from the ground up, you’ll implement a communications programme covering both public affairs and public relations, developing an integrated stakeholder engagement strategy.
That means working with journalists and politicians to ensure our key stakeholders are engaged in our story
You’ll be the go to person for all press and media enquiries in Scotland – although there’s support from the team in the form of a press office on-call rota.
Ultimately, this role will allow you to use all of you comms, public affairs and media experience to increase the awareness and reputation of the newly-revived LNER brand.
Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?!
The only thing we need from you is a background in Public Affairs and Media within the Scottish market. You don’t need to be from a rail background (although we won’t say no if you are!), but you will need that expertise in this regional communications space.
If you can tick those boxes, and importantly this role ticks all of yours, we’d love to see you apply via the Apply Now button below!
