Now that LNER (London North Eastern Railway) has brought all our financial services back in-house after a 3-year period. We have an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to take responsibility for administering the Accounts Payable process as part of the Finance Services team for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
You will ensure the Accounts Payable systems are maintained effectively to allow for accurate reporting and efficient order placement. Supporting the placement and amendment of Purchase Orders and ensure that invoices are processed and paid correctly.

You’ll have the opportunity to enhance your experience with daily processing of invoices into the system for the suppliers you have been allocated.
You will carry out invoice matching and if required resolve invoice queries through discussion with business departments and external suppliers.
You’ll perform supplier statement reconciliations and produce and review weekly invoice hold reports in order to ensure timely and efficient management of supplier accounts.

We’d love you to bring some previous finance experience to this role along with your expert Excel skills (Vlookup / Pivot Tables).
If you're studying towards or already have a professional finance qualification that would be great along with good working knowledge of finance systems – if you have experience of the rail industry, brilliant. If you don’t, please don’t worry, we can teach you the railway bits!
