We’re searching for an experienced Retail Systems Manager to take full responsibility for keeping all LNER owned channels of retailing and ticketing processes working effectively from a business and customer experience perspective. Supporting LNER in the development of these systems over time to enhance the customer experience and drive growth in the digital channel.
Supporting LNER retailing is key, with a full knowledge of the retail systems and fulfilment methods and how they work with rail back office systems and providing subject matter expertise, enabling you to represent LNER on distribution strategy developments both inside and outside the business. Working in conjunction with all rail regulations and communicate with Rail Delivery Group (RDG) to keep LNER and the retail systems accredited.
Working collaboratively with the rest of the Retail team & across the business you’ll provide in-house expertise on the operation of the CBE and the LNER owned retail channels and support the day to day successful operation of these services.
You’ll act as key link with LNER and system suppliers to ensure the integrity of LNER owned retail systems, defining LNER needs, scoping changes and undertaking User Acceptance Testing, providing expert guidance to internal & external stakeholders. Your clarity of communication will ensure fares and products are retailed accurately & are easily understood in accordance with industry & legal requirements.

Key to the success of this role is engaging with frontline teams to make sure training and briefing is deployed where needed for the Retail Systems implementation & any changes land successfully. This will also drive continuous improvement, gleaning feedback & ideas from those that use the systems on a day to day basis.
You will be the first port of call for our frontline teams and your in depth knowledge of fares and retailing will be essential when providing support troubleshooting potential faults and answering retail queries.
Of course, as with such specialist roles there are a few “must haves”...
We’d love you to have a depth of railway knowledge however, specialist knowledge or appreciation of rail ticketing and fares and industry systems PMS, NRS, NRE, LSM. TRIBUTE, DORIS, Journey Planner or other TIS would be a benefit.
We are now living in the digital age, technology & innovation is a must, therefore any expertise or appreciation of digital, web/app processes, systems & approaches would be ideal.
The successful candidate must be able to grasp change positively to keep up with the ever changing digital landscape we live in. Be proactive in maintaining high standards for our customers' experience with our systems and resolve BAU issues timely and positively.
