Revenue Protection Officer
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Revenue Protection Officer to join our growing Revenue Protection and Fraud Team. You’ll have responsibility to protect the revenue of London North Eastern Railway whilst providing a highly visible reassurance presence for customers and fellow employees, whilst working to deliver a safe and secure environment. In particular, the post will involve carrying out activities to minimise ticketless travel across the route whilst providing information and assistance to customers.
The post will also support company generated, and British Transport Police (BTP), problem solving initiatives thorough joint working and consistent, robust delivery of identified strategies and support of events.
We are currently recruiting for Peterborough only.
What will you do?
Demonstrate a positive attitude to maximising on board/ticket revenue, actively promoting sales, adapting the service and actively encouraging colleagues to deliver the targets.
Detect and prevent fraudulent travel by persons travelling or attempting to travel on the rail network.
As part of the above, ensure effective ticket checks are maintained on our services and, where required, retail tickets or issue Unpaid Fares Notices.
Undertake gateline/barrier exercises, working in partnership with stations and on train teams as well as teams from other train operators.
Support the delivery of ticketless travel surveys across the LNER route to identify areas of revenue at risk as and when required.
Ensure your standards are impeccable and that customer expectations are met.
Utilise all available technology and equipment as instructed to enhance the customer experience, including the use of shoulder mounted body cameras.
Ensure customer safety and security needs are met and relevant safety performance targets are achieved through the safe operation of all activities, working effectively with colleagues from across the business whilst on duty
Information is power, we will require you to effectively disseminate correct and timely information to customers as required
What skills do we need?
The role involves shift work, covering the full day spread over seven days a week. Although the successful candidate will be provided with rostered diagrams, these may be subject to change as the post holder must be prepared to travel around the LNER network to carry out gateline/revenue protection events as required
